How did I become a Metrologist?

I did complete my schools in a small town in Tamil Nadu, wherein after SSLC had a dilemma whether to study Arts or science, after thinking and consulting known well-wishers finally chosen to go for Technical Education which will be interesting and rewarding as the long term future in Technical stream is greater!

I did not have any idea about which stream to choose in Technical, There were 3 high weight streams are suggested as my score in SSLC is above 92%. Those disciplines were Mechanical, Electrical and Civil.

After a long thinking and discussion with known faces, I decided to go for Mechanical engineering as the Electrical is considered risky and civil considered risky and hardwork! :)

I did completed my Technical Diploma, First Class with Honors and joined a well known Two wheeler Manufacturer far away from home.

When I joined the company they did another round of interview to choose a person for Standards room(considered as prestigious job - To deal with Measurement, Calibration and Documentation) did crack it and selected as Standard's room trainee!

I was confident and bold since I did know the subject well, During study I used to do it whole heartedly and had better understanding and also use to think practical applications. This habit of understanding and studying helped me a lot throughout my carrier and education.

So my advice to the young minds who reads this is to make sure that you do really understand what you are doing for the matter of studying you should be able to deal with a practical scenario.

For example for painting my house i used to calculate the area and apply it to know how much units of Paint we need to buy, also I used to calculate the electricity consumption and predict how much the bill will come!
